Store-bought pudding is often loaded with questionable ingredients, but these recipes are made with real food ingredients. No preservatives, artificial sweeteners or weird additives!

Not only is this pudding delicious, but it needs small ingredients and, as the name suggests, is full of protein. It's perfect for snacks before or after exercise, but I've also always enjoyed the dessert.

Why You Will Love This Pudding

All three types can be made in one bowl! Yay with a little cleaning.

It does not need to "set" as traditional pudding does.

This pudding can be completely customized. Feel free to make these recipes your own!

The extra protein helps prevent the high blood sugar that you usually get when you eat sweets such as desserts.

Is This Pudding Healthy?

Absolutely! This pudding is made with small ingredients, suitable for you and does not contain refined sugar or synthetic preservatives. It is high in protein and has less sugar than traditional porridge as well. Protein enrichment comes not only from protein powder, but also from its Greek yogurt base.

I often buy Greek oil-filled fats (unlike low-fat or non-fatty foods) to fill my need for healthy fats. Expert Tip: Low-fat and low-fat products often replace fat with sugar to make sure it still tastes good! I will take more fat than sugar any day. It is also loaded with probiotics (aka good bacteria) that are essential for a healthy gut and immune system!

With 30 grams of protein by serving this pudding can help balance your blood sugar while satisfying your sweet tooth, and you won't be left hungry for more .... until tomorrow, of course!

Basic Ingredients Needed

The basis of all three types of pudding is the same. Here's what you will need to do:

empty Greek yogurt - in this plate of high protein pudding, saturated fat is the way to go. Not only is it low in sugar, Greek oil-filled yogurt will not have that delicious, tart flavor that you get from a variety of low or no fat. It also has a rich mouth and a creamy body ready for dessert. Greek vanilla yoghurt can also be delicious, but your pudding will have more sugar. My Fage 5% yoghurt products are pure Greek yoghurt and Siggi whole milk yogurt.

milk - a liquid that helps to mix this creamy mixture together. Use as much as you need to get the agreement you want. Any milk will work and cow's milk will probably give you a lot of protein, but I usually use sugar-free almond milk just because it is the one I have on hand and is low in calories.

vanilla - a great flavor enhancer that adds subtle flavor to pudding.

maple syrup - I like to use maple syrup as a natural drink in this pudding recipe. You can also use Stevia, as well as a sugar-free option.

ADDITIONAL SUGGESTING CHOICE

chocolate protein powder - chocolate protein powder gives this pudding a chocolate flavor! I personally love chocolate Nuzest protein powder. Plant-based, has a range of small and clean ingredients and is delicious. You can use my bird feed code with a 15% discount on your order. If you do not have chocolate protein powder on hand, you can use cocoa powder instead.

chocolate chips - for extra chocolate flavor and texture. I like using Lily's dark chocolate because it has low calories and sugar.

VANILLA PUDDING ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS

vanilla protein powder - get your protein and flavor in this vanilla protein protein! I love using vegan protein powder and recommend Sun Warrior or Nuzest, but feel free to use your favorite protein powder. You can use my bird feed code for a 15% discount on your Nuzest order.

fresh berries - you can certainly eat this pudding out, but being filled with fresh berries puts you “more” like a delicious, yet healthy dessert. My favorites are blueberries, raspberries or sliced strawberries.

BATTLE OF PEANUT PUDDING ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS

powdered peanut butter - powdered peanut butter, like PB2 powder, is a more efficient way to get a taste of peanut butter in your recipes with less fat, calories and sugar than regular peanut butter. And it is full of protein! If you do not have peanut butter in hand you can use regular peanut butter instead. If you have allergies to peanuts, feel free to use almond butter or any peanut butter / seed butter instead.

peanut butter - dip in the pudding, because why not! Just remember to look for natural peanut butter with no additional ingredients. The list of ingredients should read just peanuts and salt! You can also use almond butter or any peanut butter instead of peanut butter.

sliced bananas - there is nothing better than peanut butter and bananas, especially in dessert form!

How to Do It

To make any taste, simply add yoghurt, milk, maple syrup, vanilla and protein powder / light peanut butter together and mix until smooth. Then add chocolate chips, berries or peanut butter and bananas and enjoy! It's that simple.

When to Eat Protein Pudding

You probably think… this is dessert so I should eat it as dessert? But it also contains protein so should I eat it when I exercise? My answer: yes and yes!

This protein pudding is healthy enough to enjoy after exercise or as a light snack to curb those mid-day cravings, but it is delicious enough to enjoy it as a post-dinner treat. All told, you can enjoy it whenever you like… even for breakfast.
